USERS' PROFILE

The Baghmara Bufferzone Community Forest User Group consists total 1299 households with different ethnic compositions. More than half of the households belongs to Tharu community (One of the indigenous group). Besides this, other ethnic groups such as Magar, Gurung, Tamang, Newar, Mushahar, Darai, Dalit and Brahmin and Chhetri also inhabit the area. Similarly, the total population of users is 5635 according to the 2019 Households survey, out of which the population of male is 2880 and female is 2755. Most of the users in this area are farmers, followed by tourism related business, services and labor. The detail socio-economic dynamics of the users from nine villages are presented on the table.
